About the Author! 

 

Kate is an author of eleven children's books, a doodler, a former television news producer and filmmaker. . She was a television producer and author of J.B. Pictures as a former picture reseracher and editor in New York, NY. In 1991, she began working in television as a reseracher and assocate producer for nationally syndicated talk show and associate producer of films for Frontline. She also was a politcal producer and producer of news program Reallife. She started her career as a Boston-based television producer and eventually exchanged her fast-paced city lifestyle for a low-key life as a author of a column "Kate's Column" in Martha's Vineyard magazine. Her career as a freelance writer and full-time mom allowed her to find an outlet for her whimsical humor in children's book. Her first book, Double Pink, was published 2005. 

More About Kate!

She was a producer and writer of documentary films, including Matzo and Mistletoe. Her first book, Double Pink, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2005 and was illustruated by Bruce Ingman. My Mom is Trying to Ruin My Life, President Pennybaker, and But I Wanted a Baby Brother were all illustrated by Diane Goode, which also had the Caldecott honor. Also four of her books were illustrated by her father, Jules Feiffer, who was a prize-winning cartoonist.

 

Her doodles and drawings have just been given a solo show title, "From Doodles to Drawings and Back Again", in summer 2013. She also has work in the 24th Annual Children's Illustration Exhibit The R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton, MA.  Since then, her work as traveled to homes in Australia, New York, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Washington DC.
